Fr Robin writes: I was very thrilled when Amanda de Pulford agreed to write our beautiful new icon for us. I knew already from icons that Amanda had created for two of the churches in the Cheriton Benefice in Folkestone of St Martin of Tours and St Nicholas that we would be very blessed in having one of our own Patron Saint. I met with Amanda at her home in Minster in Thanet to look at possible ideas and with a timescale, she set to work.
I went over to collect the icon in the week of the Patronal and Amanda was finishing off the icon, whilst leading an icon retreat in the beautiful setting of Minster Abbey. Amanda has been writing icons for a number of years now and often leads workshop/retreats at the Abbey. It was a special joy that Amanda, her husband Mark and her father were able to be part of our Patronal festival celebrations and to see her wonderful work being blessed. It is truly a very lovely addition to our church and I hope it will be a very special aid to prayer for us all.
