St Richard’s is a small church, built in the 1960s, providing a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, serving the local community and visitors. There is the opportunity for worship every Sunday and the church is also available as a venue for meetings.
The Rector of Winchelsea serves both St Richard’s Church and St Thomas and conducts baptisms, marriages and funerals at St Richard’s as well as pastoral visiting. The main outreach into the community is the Fellowship Lunch, held on the last Friday of the month at the Community Hall. This includes an excellent meal followed by a short talk. Donations are invited to support local charities and to meet expenses.
Sunday worship at St Richard’s
On the first Sunday of the month, Evening Prayer with hymns is held at 3.30pm, followed by tea. On all other Sundays, a said Parish Eucharist with hymns is held at 9.15am.
In the months of June, July and August, Evening Prayer is not held, and there is a 9.15am said Parish Eucharist instead.
