Due to changes in Government Guidance we are delighted to announce that services will resume at St. Thomas the Martyr, Winchelsea and St Nicolas and All Saints, Icklesham from Sunday 12th July. They will each take the form of a said service of Parish Eucharist at the usual times of 11:00am and 9:30am respectively. There will be restrictions on how the service is conducted and we ask worshippers to observe social distancing and respect others.
There will not be an online service this Sunday but if there is a continued demand we will consider reinstating some online resources. Please contact the Rector, the Rev’d Jonathan Meyer – 01797 226254.
Today would have been our patronal service, celebrated with a sung mass by the Pegasus Choir. Under the circumstances this has not been possible but we have been asked by Bishop Martin to provide an online service which will be available to the whole diocese. It has enabled us to harness the different gifts and talents of as many people as possible and I’m especially grateful to Jonathan Murphy who has helped with much of the filming and editing. It reminds how we are all called to use our gifts in different ways to the glory of God.
Here is another story recorded for the school. The healing of Naaman was one of my favourites and somewhere I think I still have a picture I did of him emerging from the Jordan cleansed of his leprosy – Hallelujah
It is now permitted for organists to practice in church although they are still not permitted to play for a service. As you can see David has used lockdown to hone his skills and this is light-hearted medley recorded while we prepared the Parish Eucharist for the Diocese.
